Captain Scragg will always have a go, and here we have a tale from the last century both hilariously funny in some parts and with a tinge of sadness in others as the author charts the voyage of the tug captain and his crew over the seas to faraway islands where customs are are different,where innocent actions can have almost disastrous consequences.There are discoveries ,violence, pain and fortitude, trials of adversity ,both on board and on land, told in a manner not exactly politically correct for today's society, but a gripping and raw tale ,probably more so for the manner in which it is told. You live the emotions of the human conflicts and interactions between the crew on their voyage of rapidly changing conditions and fortunes, and upon their arrival ,the interaction between a race of indigenous people who just happen to have a different coloured skin, different language, different customs ,and totally different sense of humour.A rollicking good read ,guaranteed to dispel any gloom that lurks in the background.
