How to clear the search history in Safari

Erase your search history on Safari to prevent people from seeing what you have previously searched for.




Three easy solutions to clear search history on Safari


Clear search History by resetting Safari:

1.Open your Safari Web browser. Click on "Edit" at the top of your browser window and choose the option labeled "Reset Safari" from the drop-down menu appearing.

2. Choose "Clear history" from the warning dialog with detailed items that will be removed popping up. Click "reset" button to complete the process in a few seconds. Your Safari browser will now restart automatically.

Just one click to clear search history. Open Safari, choose Clear History, and click Ok button from the dialogue box appearing to clear search history.

Clear Search History manually

1. Find web history folder. Go to your home folder (the one in the Finder Sidebar with the house icon). From there, navigate to the following folder: Library > Caches > Metadata > Safari > History.

And then go back on folder level. You now see two folder - Bookmarks and History. Right click to delete the folder or unfold this folder to choose the one you want to clear.

2. You can go into this window below from History menu by clicking Today or other times on drop-down list. Then you can delete them one by one manually.
