CoreMelt Complete 2.0.2
180 GPU accelerated tools for Motion Artists and Editors who want more Grunt in their workflow. From soft organic glows and blurs to advanced colour correction tools and instant photo montages, CoreMelt Complete will save you hours of time on every project, no matter what type of editing or motion graphics work you do. CoreMelt Complete includes ALL 8 CoreMelt products; ImageFlow Fx V2, PolyChrome Transitions V2 TRX, PolyChrome Transitions V2 Delta V, Pigment, Gadget, Luminous and Shatter, in total providing you with 180 GPU accelerated plugins to kick start and floor your workflow. The CoreMelt Complete installer also provides 18 effects which are unlimited and free for all users regardless of whether you purchase or not. Requirements:
G5 or Intel processor.
CoreImage capable 128MB graphics card.
256MB graphics card required for HD rendering.
One of the following hosts:
Final Cut Studio 2
Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 or later.
Motion 3.0.2 or later.
Final Cut Express 4.0 or later.
After Effects CS3/CS4.
Limitations:
15 days trail period, after which you must purchase a license key to remove the water mark from all rendered effects. What's New in This Release:
V Twin FX Engine / Standalone installation: All CoreMelt plugins now use the 2nd generation V Twin FX plugin engine and are now completely standalone and no longer require FxFactory to be installed first.
Improved Curves based Color Correction: All color correction filters now use RGB cubic curves which improves rendering quality and speed especially on 10 bit and 12 bit FCP source material or 16 bit AE or Motion Projects.
Onscreen Curves Controls: Most color correction tools now display onscreen curves controls to show visually how you are changing the RGB or Luma response curve. You can use the “onscreen” control to switch between the onscreen curves being “Always Off”, “Only When dragging” or “Always On”. Note that if you change the interface to “Standard”, then the curves will not be displayed when dragging sliders, use “Always On” to see the curves if you are using “Standard” interface controls (eg to keyframe).
Global Preferences: Press the "globals" button on all plugins next to registration to access the global preferences for all CoreMelt v2 plugins. Global preferences that can be enabled or disabled for all plugins in a project include Motion Blur and Color Clamping ranges, with more coming shortly.
Motion Blur: This parameter is only used in FCP as in AE and Motion, plugins use the layer or project settings for Motion blur. The motion blur setting “on with high quality” is designed to allow for a workflow with fast previews and high quality rendering as follows: set your RT setting resolution to “medium” then set the motion blur global to “enable: on with high quality”. In this case the plugins will play on the timeline with fast previews without motion blur but render with motion blur when you render the timeline.
Texture/Mask Pulldowns With Thumbnails: Masks or built in textures such ad the Imageflow Fx frames now appear as thumbnails in the menu to allow you to select them easily. You can also add your own masks to the CoreMelt Masks menu by creating a folder in your home directory "~/Library/Application Support/CoreMelt/V2 Vector Masks". Any PDF, AI or PNG image files placed in that directory will be available for all CoreMelt plugins to use as
built in masks. You can customise other texture browsers in the same way, a full list of directories is in the full documentation.
New Vector Based Masks and Frames: All built in masks and frames in CoreMelt plugins are now vector files which are rasterized on the fly at the full project resolution.
Graphical Multi-sliders: Many of the plugins in CoreMelt V2 products now use custom sliders to intuitively demonstrate exactly what the slider controls when thresholds or color based slid-
ers are used. These sliders allow quick setup to get the feel of creating a look for a plugin, but they cannot currently be keyframed. If you need to keyframe these controls use the popup menu "Interface" menu to change the controls from "Custom" to "Standard" and you can then keyframe every parameter. You can hold down “ctrl” when dragging any slider to get increased input resolution.
Transition Effects are Available as filters in Motion and After Effects: Most Transition effects that were previously only available in Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Express now appear as filters in Motion and After Effects. In some cases where a very similar plugin already existed as a filter the transition effect does not appear as a filter.
ImageFlow Fx now loads movies and compositions as well as still images: ImageFlow Fx can now create dynamic montage animations from movies and quartz compositions as well as still images. Use the “Load” control to choose if images, movies, compositions or all three are loaded from the selected folder. You can choose two different modes of movie playback, when selecting “Time mode” -> “From Start” each movie starts playing the moment it fades on, when selecting “Time mode” -> “Continuous” each movie is constantly playing from time zero and loops back to the start when it finishes.
WARNING: you may find extremely long render times if you point ImageFlow to a folder of HD movies, we do not recommend you try using ImageFlow is this fashion. Especially when using the “multi” plugins which play up to 8 images at a time you should scale down your content before attempting to create montage animations. You will get best results using content in a codec which is designed for realtime playback with lowest overhead, we recommend transcoding your content to Photo Jpeg codec for this reason. Avoid using MPEG4 or H264 content if possible.
VeeYou now reads the audio from files in all hosts: VeeYou can now read the audio from a Quicktime Movie file, AIFF or WAV file directly so it can react to the audio without having to set manual keyframes or use audio behaviors. This functionality is available in all hosts, but it requires you to add the audio once to the project canvas, then select the audio file again in the plugin.
In After Effects you can select the audio directly from a layer, this functionality will be added in future in FxPlug hosts.
Improved Fastblur Algorithm with advanced controls: Many CoreMelt plugins use a fastblur effect which renders the same speed independently of the blur size, you can now choose box, gaussian or disc blurs when fast blurs are used and can choose to adjust the way the fast blur is performed by adjusting the max downres size and the ratio of blur width to downres.
