Dolet for Finale 4.7
Finale plug-in that reads and writes MusicXML 1.1 files. Dolet 4 for Finale is a plug-in for the Finale music notation program that reads and writes MusicXML 2.0 files on Windows and Mac OS X. With Dolet software, you can finally read files created in Finale 2008 with Finale 2006. Read music from Sibelius into Finale by using Dolet for Finale together with our Dolet for Sibelius plug-in. MusicXML files built with Dolet 4 for Finale will usually import into Sibelius 4 and 5 better than Finale ETF files do. Main features of Dolet for Finale:
Batch translation - Dolet 4 lets you translate an entire folder of MusicXML files into Finale files, or an entire folder of Finale files into MusicXML files. If you have a lot of files to transfer, this is an enormous time saver. Batch translation requires Finale 2004 or later and is not included in the 30-day free trial.
MusicXML 2.0 export - Finale 2008 reads MusicXML 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 files, but it only writes MusicXML 1.0 and 1.1 files for compatibility with older versions of Finale. Dolet 4 writes MusicXML 2.0 files as well as reading them, letting you transfer more formatting information to older versions of Finale or other MusicXML 2.0 applications.
Better transfer to Sibelius - Sibelius 5.1 adds support for reading MusicXML 2.0 files in both .xml and .mxl format. Dolet 4 for Finale allows you to take advantage of the new MusicXML 2.0 features supported by Sibelius 5.1. Use compressed MusicXML 2.0 .mxl files for better transfer of scores that combine music, text, and linked graphics. Dolet 4 also exports locked system formatting more accurately than Finale 2008, giving more reliable conversion of page layout.
More font support - Dolet 4.2 for Finale adds support for Bill Duncan's popular ChordSuf font from the Finale Productivity Kit. Finale chord symbols defined using this font can now be transferred to Sibelius and other applications. Dolet 4.2 for Finale also adds basic support for the November and NovemberExtra fonts.
More formatting control - Dolet 4 for Finale lets you import a MusicXML file into an empty document with your own specific template settings. The MusicXML import will then respect the formatting settings in your empty document as much as possible. Finale 2008 always opens a new document, so you always getting the formatting from your default Finale file.
Works with more versions of Finale - Dolet 4 works with Finale 2000 to 2008 on Windows, Finale 2004 to 2008 on Power PC Macs running OS X, and Finale 2007 to 2008 on Intel Macs.
More frequent updates - Dolet 4 includes regular maintenance updates to keep making translations ever more accurate. Our previous release, Dolet 3, had nine maintenance updates. Finale releases typically have one or two maintenance updates.
