MSN not working on Adium

Work out the problem - Adium not working with MSN on Mac.

"For the last few months, I haven’t been able to use MSN Messenger with Adium. I’d log in, but it would just hang endlessly. Searching the bug reports was frustrating, and didn’t provide any insights."

One of my friends complain to me. Have you ever come across the same problem? Today I'll give the solution to this obscure post.

Apparently MSN changed the default connection settings without Adium making the change on their end to your account automatically. To resolve this, you can do as follows:

Step 1. Launch Adium.

You can click the Adium icon on the desktop or start Adium from Start > Program menu.

Step 2. Open Preference.

At the top menu select: Adium > Preferences, open the Preferences panel and Edit the account in question.

Step 3. Set Options on MSN with Adium.

Accounts window will pop up. In this window, you want to go to the lower left where there is a plus sign and select "MSN Messenger"

Choose the Options tab and set Login Server to messenger.live.com, Port to 80 and turn on (check) the Connect via HTTP box.

Click OK to close this window. Now you have solve your problem. Adium can work with MSN on Mac.
