How to appear invisible on AIM with Adium for Mac

Interesting eye to make you invisible when you sign in AIM with Adium.

If you watch closely, you will find the Eye Icon on AIM with Adium opens and closes. Why does this happen? And what does it mean?

When the Eye is closed, it means you're 'Invisible' to the buddies in that Buddy List window. In other words, when you are signed in but your buddies can't see you that you signed in on period. Invisible mode is helpful when you want to choose who you want to talk to, or don't want to talk to anyone at all.

When it's open, you're visible to buddies in that Buddy List window.

How to become Invisible on AIM with Adium

Becoming "invisible" on AIM is . You can still I.M.(Instant Message) your buddies, but you won't be shown on their list. Well there are different ways to do it.

Step 1. Download AIM on PCs.

You first have to download AIM on your computer. Now you can sign in.

Step 2. Become Invisible on AIM with Adium.

Make Invisible before signing in.

• Sign onto your AIM.



• Next to the Available and the Post It Note symbol, is an eye.



• Click the eye.



• When the eye is closed, that means you are invisible, and no one can see you.

Become Invisible after signing in.

• Another way, if you signed in already you could make yourself invisible as well. The little eye that you see next to the "available" tab you can press on it and it will make you "invisible".

• If you have multiple linked accounts, you can make one or various accounts "invisible". All you have to do, sign in as normal and follow the above step with an exception.

• On the side of your user name, there is an downward arrow in which you can uncheck " apply to all accounts". This way you can do something to an account without affecting the others such as going "away" or "invisible".
