Make you add Yahoo Messenger to Adium for Mac with no problem!
"I have signed in Yahoo mail for a week. I just wonder why I cannot add Yahoo to Adium chat program for Mac. I use this chat program for all my accout such Hotmail, Gmail and .Mac." --- From Yahoo Answers.
As is known to all, Adium for Mac is a free and fast Instant Messaging software, which can support all major messengers, such as Yahoo Messenger. But when you add Yahoo Messenger to Adium, you maybe come across the problem mentioned above. How did you solve this problem?
If you not, you should have a look at this article which provides some possible ways to the problem. So, please pay more attention to this article.
Make sure your password is simple ascii.
As to your Yahoo messenger account, it should be user@yahoo.com part. Your user name should only be your Yahoo User ID -- the part before the "@". And you should make sure that you're setting up a Yahoo account and not an MSN account.
Adium’s latest update includes a fix for this bug so please do download the update. And after installation please make sure your connection’s login server is back to the default: scs.msg.yahoo.com, and ports: 5050, that should fix it.
Try an updated version of Yahoo! Messenger 9.0(9.0.0.2128). This latest build includes a fix for the sign-in issues that have been affecting some users. If you were seeing an error code“81003005” when trying to sign in, this latest version may fix that problem.
By change your connection setting in preference:
If a Firewall protects your network, it may block Yahoo messenger when it tries to connect to the server. So you need to changer your connection settings.
