1. Check your password and code.

Make sure your password is simple ascii.

As to your Yahoo messenger account, it should be user@yahoo.com part. Your user name should only be your Yahoo User ID -- the part before the "@". And you should make sure that you're setting up a Yahoo account and not an MSN account.

2. Update Adium and Yahoo messenger.

Adium’s latest update includes a fix for this bug so please do download the update. And after installation please make sure your connection’s login server is back to the default: scs.msg.yahoo.com, and ports: 5050, that should fix it.

Try an updated version of Yahoo! Messenger 9.0(9.0.0.2128). This latest build includes a fix for the sign-in issues that have been affecting some users. If you were seeing an error code“81003005” when trying to sign in, this latest version may fix that problem.

3. Check the connection preferences

By change your connection setting in preference:

• Click Messenger and select Connection Preferences again.



• Select Use Proxies. Enable either the HTTP Proxy or the SOCKS Proxy as needed and provide the proper address.



• Click OK and login again using the new settings.

4. Turn off your Firewall and try logging in Yahoo! messenger.

If a Firewall protects your network, it may block Yahoo messenger when it tries to connect to the server. So you need to changer your connection settings.

• Click the Messenger menu in Yahoo messenger and select Connection Preferences.



• Select Firewall With No Proxies. Select your Internet Connection type from the pull-down menu at the bottom and enter your Home Country if the adoptions aren’t grayed out.



• Click OK and login again using the new settings.
