How to backup Adium on Mac



"How do I backup adium's preferences, aliases, logs, and anything else I'm forgetting? I'm planning to do an Erase & Install and I like exactly how my Adium is right now so I want to restore it."

Sometimes, when we reinstall our operationg system or update Adium, data may loses. So you should learn how to backup Adium for Mac, and then you can use this way to backup other software.



Back up the following locations/items of Adium and you should be good to go:

~/Library/Preferences/com.adiumX.adiumX.plist


~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/

Notes: ~/ is your home directory (for example, /Users/[your user name]).


This will back up the preferences and the instant message logs, plus any dock icons/menu bar icons/sound schemes/contact list styles/message styles/other extras that you've installed for Adium. So you will be back up and running in no time!
