Removal of the Adobe Flash Player Plug In and ActiveX Control can be a simple process if you download the Adobe uninstaller.

Download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller from Adobe.

MAC OS X users should choose the uninstall_flash_player.osx.dmg to download from Adobe official web and save the file to your computer, ensuring that you save it in an easy to locate area, such as your desktop. MAC OS 8.x, 9.x users should choose uninstall_flash_player.hqx (33 KB)

Notes: Please ensure you have chosen the correct uninstaller for your operating system.

Close web browser.

Your internet browser, such as Safari, Mozilla Firefox, or Opera should be closed as well. Ensure that your system tray is clear of any running programs that could interfere by using parts of the Adobe Flash Player Plug-In and ActiveX Control.

Remove Adobe Flash Player plugin and Active X Control with Uninstaller.

Double click the uninstaller and allow it to run. Follow the on screen prompts until it has finished the job.

Once you have removed the flash player, its plug-in and active x control, you can now download and install the version you want on your system.

Notes: The Adobe uninstaller will not be able to remove any files that are currently in use by open web browsers, instant messengers, games, projectors, or stand alone SWFs. If after you complete the uninstall of Adobe Flash Player Plug-In and ActiveX Control, there are still files left, close and try again.
