Retrieve Skype to Skype history from the Mac

Skype is a free software, which can make you communicate with friends in the world using free text, voice, video, make free calls for as long as you like, to wherever you like or send documents rapidly.

Skype archives your chats for you and stores them locally on your computer, if you have enabled this option. Chat histories are not stored anywhere on the Skype network. Chats are archived as a convenience to you, so that you can easily keep track of your chat conversations on Skype – think of it as sent mail for Skype.

In other words, no one else will ever be able to see any of your chat histories except you and the person you are chatting with.

If you want to retrieve Skype to Skype history from the Mac, you must enable the store chat histories option. Before the guide of retrieving Skype to Skype history from the Mac, we give the steps of store chat histories setting.

1. Download Skype for Mac and install it to Mac.

2. To enable or disable this option launch “Skype” --> “Preferences” --> “Chat” and select your choice of chat history settings.

3.To view archived chat sessions for a specific contact, select the contact from your Contact List and go to "Contacts" --> "View Chat History".



A browser window will open showing your previous chat sessions with the selected contact.
