Earth Explorer 4.0
Earth Explorer - 3D earth desktop 3D global world map on your desktop, with street-level resolution satellite imagery convered entire earth, countries, cities, islands and boundaries informations etc. You can add path, place mark to the map, measure distance between any two points. Both students and world-curious folks will find this application a fun. Main features of Earth Explorer:3D global view with 50m resolution satellite imagery and shaded relif DEM (digital elevation model) imagery convered entire earth;
Inlucde 267 countries and regions, 40000+ cities, 15000+ islands, 1700+ noteworthy historical earthquakes and vector layers includes political boundaries, coastlines, rivers, longitude-latitude grids;

Enable addition to user-definable Place Marks, Paths and personal comments over places.
Measure and calculate distance and bearing between any two points, find a particular country, city, island by name;
Display Compass, Map Scale and Map Legend.
Enable Print and Print Preview, and you could control the resolution and size of your print.
Enable operation under full screen mode
Enable pan and zoom to rotate and observe the Earth.
Scroll on mouse's scroll key to zoom in/out;
Configure to show day/night shadow effect, adjust Gamma to control lumination, or choose a star space as background.

With 50-meter/pixel resolution, you can zoom to street-level.
Add your own comments on places
You can pinpoint a place by name, or by coordinates and write your comment over it. For instance, you may add "Daniel's Home", followed by blah-blah-blah contents.
Add Place Mark
You may pinpoint a place either by its name or its coordinates.
Add Path;
You can add lots of pins to places to form a desired path. This is especially useful when you are planning for a travel.
Add Print Options and Print preview;
Some complaints that it is not easy to print out a digital map from our software, because there's not Print and Preview Option with previous version. We add this function, so that you could adjust resolution and the size of your print before you print them out.
Enable Full Screen Shortcut key operation;
Full screen operation was impossible for previous versions, for all keyboard shortcuts cannot associate with the full-screen mode. We enable this function in a hope to make it easy for people who prefer a larger display of our digital 3D map.
Add map legend;
Map Legend helps you understand what dots and squares mean on the map.
Add compass;
When you rotate the digital earth, it will be hard for you to know the directions without the assistance of a compass.
Add scale;
Map Scale associate the actual size of the traditional map with vector description of digital map. It interpretes what 50 meter/pixel resolution means.
Add DMS and GPS formats for lat/lon input;
Enable zoom inl/out via mouse scroll;
Scrolling up your mouse will zoom closer into the map; scrolling it down will zoom out until the Earth looks like a tiny little blue gem in the vast universe.
Enable "Loading" notice while accessing data;
Loading will be displayed when Earth Explorer is accessing data from Motherplanet data server. It will take a few seconds or more (if your connection is slow) to present you a clear bird's eyeview. So please wait in patience while loading.
2.Minor update:
Rearranged image icons for sub menu items;
Fixed some minor bugs.
Requirements of Earth Explorer:
PowerPC G3 800 or faster processor;
128MB RAM at minimum, 256MB is recommended;
600MB of free hard disk space or more;
24bit color monitor, resolution at 800 x 600 or higher.
