Episode Pro provides powerful desktop encoding plus professional broadcast format support and unlimited batch encoding. In addition, Episode Pro will act as a gateway to our workgroup server.


Main features of Episode Pro:

  • Encode MPEG 1/2/4, Windows Media 9, DV, 3GPP/2, M4A, MOV and other QuickTime codecs, Flash 8 encode is optional.
  • Plus high-end professional formats, such as MXF, GXF, H.265 High Pofile, DVCPRO HD, MPEG 2/4 Transport Streams, mobile multi-bitrate and more Plus Surround Sound
  • Audio filters include balance, channel mixing fade in/out, five-band equalizer, high pass/low pass filters and audio normalization
  • Video filters include timecode burn in, black and white restoration, contrast, fade, gamma correction, HSV levels, RGB filter, sharpen, smoothing, visible watermark, resize, de-interlace, fade in/out, inverse telecine and noise reduction
  • Unlimited batch processing
  • More than 80 professional setting templates Plus the ability to scale to Episode Workgroup server-based solutions
  • Multiprocessor support
  • Prioritize encoding

    Requirements of Episode Pro:

  • Intel based Mac or Apple PowerPC G5 (no longer supports G4).
  • Minimum 1 GB RAM.
  • QuickTime 7 or later.


    Limitations of Episode Pro:

  • 30 days trial period.
  • Encoding jobs are limited to 30 seconds or half the duration of the input file.

    What's New in This Release:

    Enhancements:
  • Added Flip4Mac MXF import components to Episode Pro. These components allow you to import media directly from popular cameras and media servers (XDCAM, Infinity, Editcam and Image Server) into Episode Pro for encoding to any format. The Flip4Mac
  • MXF import components are now included for free in Episode, except from the K2 import component. It will be included for free in an upcoming release of Episode.
  • Add CLI document to Episode Engine DMG
  • Made it possible to install Engine using Admin as short name

    Fixed issues:
  • Episode - Deactivating a license now changes the Deactivate button into an active button

    Episode Engine:
  • Monitor environment variables have been added to job properties and event scripts.
  • "monitor-name" is always set, either "monitor-depot" or "monitor-outfolder" is set depending on which is set by user.
  • Package installer no longer fails on preinstall.
  • Episode Engine no longer hangs for certain installations
  • Split & stitch fixed for OP1a MXF
  • Split and Stitch issue with longer files failing is fixed.
  • Issue with Engine repeatedly submitting the same file from a watch folder has been resolved
  • FTP monitor is significantly faster
  • Image Sequences monitoring is now functional over NFS mounts

    General Format Support (applies to all products):
  • MXF rewrapped to MOV files can now be imported in Final Cut Pro
  • Fixed issue with GXF 720p files to and from a K2
  • GXF encoder no longer allows in- or outpoints to be set past source duration
  • Fixed issue with frames being cut when encoding files with MOV D-10 IMX Source
  • MOV/3GPP files now encode correctly
  • Episode now supports correct H.264 TS Level 4
  • AVID-compatible OpAtom files containing DNxHD can now be created
  • Fixed issue where packetized AMR audio was cut off
  • Issue with Flash-8 alpha channel is fixed
  • MPEG Video is now working on Windows XP and Vista
  • HDV can now be transcoded to Flash 8
  • VC-1 transcodes from HDV no longer freeze during playout
  • HDV to Real Video transcoding no longer hangs
  • HDV to MPEG-4 transcoding no longer fails
  • MPEG-4 decoder is no longer producing poor output result
  • Issue with duration of certain decoded MPEG-4 video files has been resolved
  • Color issues when using motion compensated deinterlacer has been fixed
  • Color issue when encoding from uncompressed 16:9 material has been resolved
  • Issue with manually specifying 4:3 or 16:9 display aspect ratio in the H264 encoder has been fixed.
