KryptEdit A simple cryptography tool with random text editing features
KryptEdit 1.0AKryptEdit was an old project from a bunch of simple cryptography ideas and some other random text editing features. The app includes ciphers/filters that can be performed on plain text files, an interface to Mac OS X's text-to-speech technology, Bacon's Cipher - a filter that encrypts plain text into font patterns - and other miscellaneous stuff. Main features of KryptEdit: KryptEdit provides three more features available from the Tools menu: ■ Speech: a simple interface to Mac OS X's advanced text-to-speech technology First, type the text you would like to convert in the text box. If you want to listen to it, click the Play button. Each word will highlight as it is spoken. If you want to save it as an audio file, click the Save... button. Chose a name and location for the file. It will be saved as an AIFF audio file. ■ Frequency Analysis: a rough tool to count the frequency of text. First, type the text you would like to analyze in the text box. Then, chose from the drop-down menu the objects you would like to count. (letters, characters, or words) Last, click the Analyze button. Your results will appear in the box on the right. ■ Baconizer: a tool to encrypt text in font patterns If you want to encrypt text, type your cover text in the upper text box. It will be plainly visible, it's purpose is to hold the font patterns symbolizing your encrypted text. The cover text will need to be five times as long as the encrypted text, or your message will be clipped. Then, type the text you would like to encrypt in the lower box. Last, click the Hide button. Your message will be encrypted into your cover text. To save the cover text, click the Save... button, and chose a name and location for it to be saved as a rich text file. If you want to decrypt text, paste the cover text into the upper text box. Click the Unhide button. Your message will appear in the lower text box. To change the settings, click the gear button |
