Lingo is a word game where you have to use your logical deduction capabilities. The goal of the game is to find the key word, selected at random by the computer from a word list of your choice, using a limited number of tries. After each word that you guess, Lingo will reveal hints related to your word and the key word... Playing the game After loading a valid word list, do menu "New Game". A window appears with a 12 x 12 grid in it. Click in the grid to set the grid to the desired dimensions. The grid's width determines the length of the key word. The grid's height determines the maximum number of tries to find the key word... When using the unregistered version of Lingo, the height and width of the grid are limited to 4 or 5... Click on OK to confirm your choice. Lingo then chooses a word at random and places the first letter of the word in the grid. If the word is more than 6-letter long, Lingo reveals another letter from the start... From the letter already placed, you must guess the key word. Simply type your word in the field beneath the grid and press Return. Your word appears on the next free row, with some letters colored differently. Each color provides a specific hint about the difference between the word you entered and the word to find. The three possible hints are: From these hints, you suggest another word, and so on. If you are successful in finding the key word, you get points according to the word's length and the number of tries used, and you move on with another word. If you can't find the key word using the allowed number of tries, the game is over... Limitations: |
