Free and open source graph editor and a C++ algorithm library

Pigale is a graph editor and a C++ algorithm library essentially concerned with planar graphs.


Pigale, which is particularly intended for graph theoretical research, includes new algorithms based on recent theoretical researches.


It is built over a new graph data structure optimizing topological operations on static graphs. Implementation of the graphml input-output file format is partial.

  • corrected a bug while taking snapshots of the editor. This bug was introduced in pigale 1.3.10 (since then the editor uses OpenGL).
  • added a representation of a bipartite graph on 2 pages
  • improved representation of bipartite graphs by contact of segments so that all segments touch or cross the diagonal
  • pigale is automatically relinked when libraries have changed.
  • added to configure the option --enable-ubuntu to use the preinstalled Qt4 package (may work on other distributions).
  • corrected a bug in RemoveIsthmus()
