How to play "Mahjong Roadshow":
GAME GOALS:
ÂTravel through seven enchanted locations in search of priceless objects on a 50 day antique adventure. Build a collection of treasured items and earn the ultimate rank of Master Collector.
ÂIn the Antique Adventure mode you will match tiles in a game of mahjong but you will collect treasured tiles used to clear each of the 50 levels.
ÂChoose Layout Creator and you can create your own level designs, share them with a community, download other layouts, and play classic solitaire mahjong.
PAIRS:
ÂTo clear a pair of tiles, just select any free tile and then select a matching tile.
ÂA free tile is any tile that can be moved to the left or to the right without disturbing the tiles around it.
ÂBe mindful of different layers of tiles.
SETS:
ÂYou can also clear tiles by placing them in the sets box at the bottom of the game screen. Right clicking, or just dragging and dropping will add tiles to the sets box. You can match two or more of the same tile in the sets box.
ÂYou can also match three or more objects of the same type, for instance, you make a set with four different toy soldiers.
ÂOnce you have the chosen the tiles for your set, just click the ‘submit button’ to clear them. If you change your mind, you can always click the ‘undo’ button.
SCORING:
ÂYour score is displayed in the upper left hand corner of the game screen.
ÂYou’ll earn money each time you clear a pair of tiles by matching them.
ÂClearing three or more tiles by using the sets box will also give you a bonus multiplier.
ÂAny tiles left on the board after you have cleared the Treasure Tile and ended the level also provide a bonus multiplier.
POWERUPS:
ÂAnytime you are stuck and can’t find the next match, you can use the money you’ve earned from making matches to buy a ‘Hint'. It will find two matching tiles for you and highlight them.
ÂIf you get really stuck and you can’t find anymore matches, you can use the money you’ve earned to buy a ‘Shuffle.’ This will shuffle all of the tiles throughout the layout.
ÂIf you want to learn more about a tile you can use the money you’ve earned to buy an ‘Appraisal.’ You can use Appraisals on Treasure Tiles to help you determine how valuable they are, or you can use them on any tile in the game to learn more about it.
TREASURE TILES:
ÂTreasure Tiles are the most important tiles in Mahjong Roadshow.
ÂWhen you match a pair of Treasure Tiles, the level will end and you’ll be able to add that Treasure Tile to your Auction Collection.
UNCLE HENRY TILES:
ÂBe on the lookout, your Uncle Henry might send you a package! His travels take him to exotic markets around the world and from time to time he'll come across interesting items and will send them your way.
ÂHe's not an expert though, so they might be priceless artifacts or they might be worthless trinkets.
ÂJust match the special tiles and pay the postage to find out what's inside.
AUCTION COLLECTION:
ÂYour Auction Collection holds the Treasure Tiles you will be bringing to the Roadshow Auction Galleries at the end of 50 days.
ÂYou will be able to swap Treasure Tiles between your stock of available antiques and your Auction Collection at any time.
ÂYou can use the money you’ve earned playing the game to purchase additional Treasure Tile slots in your Auction Collection.
ÂEach Treasure Tile has a monetary value and moving the most valuable Treasure Tiles into your Auction Collection will increase your total Collection Value.
ÂBe on the lookout for sets of Treasure Tiles that give a bonus to your Collection Value when all parts of a set appear in your Auction Collection.
